"About Us" is mainly "About Me", Ama Kalma, and a team of independent designers and programmers. How do I start?

A few weeks ago I visited the web site of a woman who is an accomplished and successful tech copy writer for large corporations. I found one page with info about herself and her family. I really liked this personal touch. I felt I got to know her a little bit and it made me feel comfortable. She had become more than just a name.

I decided to do a similar thing. Here I am:

Professionally:

• MBA at Hamburg University, Germany
• 10 years at Gruner + Jahr, a German international magazine publishing corporation and part of the world wide Bertelsmann concern: as (1) office manager, (2) IT co-ordinator between departments using electronic data processing and the department programming it, (3) CEO of distribution department, (4) CEO of direct mail department.
• 20 years as a business consultant in Germany, USA and now Australia.
• 5 years experience on the Internet; first as the enthusiastic newbie, now as a well experienced - but always learning - enthusiastic pro.

Personally:

I am a (German) world citizen. I enjoy being with different people in different cultures, speaking different languages. My passions are: travelling, reading and the Internet.

Fortunately my (French) husband Ariel and my (American/German/French) son Joël share these passions. Ariel is a musician, composer, sound engineer and now our techie for all kinds of computer requirements. Joël is 15, home-schooled, plays StarCraft with other kids on the Internet, programs his own strategies and learns HTML online.

We live in Australia, close to never-ending beaches on the East Coast and rain forest in the hinterland. Australia is a fantastic wonderful (literally full of wonder) country with many friendly and helpful people.

The Internet finally gave me the opportunity to work with people around the world while living in a nourishing and healthy environment.
